Oigong: Stress, tension and anxiety reliever.

I consider Oigong to relieve me suffering from tension, and stress. I admit, I'm overly stressful because of piled works in the office. Whenever I finish one task, another comes and even more. I am quite use to it but I often said, "I need a break!" I rest my stress practicing Oigong.

Oigong mitigates pain by clearing energy blockages along invisible patheways called meridians. I begin with ten minutes of meditation and I progress to tai chi-like exercises, synchronized with relaxes breathing

Study reveals that Oigong helps releases endorphins in the brain that can bring a sense of peace and a relief from pain.

Indeed, after weeks of practising Oiging, no matter how much task to be done, I'm confidently ready to finish them all. It's so great feeling healthy everyday.

Difference between minor back pain and an injury

Oftentimes, I've experience minor back pain which keeps me thinking that maybe it's an injury. Knowing from Nadya Swedan, M.D., sports medicine back pain and an injury are inseparably different.

According to her, if you have a minor ache, an area of your back about the size of your hand will feel stiff, but you'll still be able to move. This is usually the result of a muscle strain, meaning it's inflamed or partially torn which i caused by overexertion or too much sitting. The discomfort should gradually diminish within a week.

On the other hand, if it's more serious injury (usually a pinched nerve cause by a slipped disc), you'll likely experience debilitating pain and stiffness at the injury site which may leave you bedridden. This occurs when the surrounding muscles tighten to protect the back from further distress. Furthermore, you may also feel numb or weak.

Obviously, whatever these two are, I'm finding to soothe them because it's scruciating. Probably, a gentle walking, cycling, stretching, acuball or stott pilates system will do.

Apricots: Fat Belly, Brain Power, Soft Skin, Boundless Energy

I love apricots. I was never wrong eating apricots whenever I like. This fruit is such a perfect package deal. That's when I knew it's role and importance to our health as I have observed the positive changes in me. Thus, to further agree on, I've searched through the Internet and here are some which I've collected:

A Flat Belly

More than half the fiber in each calorie apricot is the soluble kind. A recent Spanish study showed that women who increased their intake of soluble fiber lost 9 pounds in 16 weeks - without making any other changes to their diet. That's because this nutrient forms a slow-digesting gel in the gut that quells hunger for hours. Plus, apricots' insoluble fiber helps flatten bloat by efficient moving food through the GI tract.

Genius Brainpower

Apricot is a top natural source of zinc. The essential trace mineral plays a pivotal role in the synthesis of neurotransmitters such as dopamine to improve signaling in the hippo-campus, the brain's memory center. In a study, zinc was shown to improve on-the-spot recall of words and facts by 15%.

Silky-soft Skin

Apricots provide surefire defense against the premature aging of skin. German researchers recently discovered that, once consumed, the fruit's rich stores of lycopene migrate directly to the skin and remain for up to three days. There, the antioxidant neutralizes the skin-roughening singlet oxygen produced during exposure to the sun's ultraviolet radiation. The result: a baby-smooth complexion.

Boundless Energy

Regularly snacking on apricots can reduce tiredness by 28% in 30 days, report Chinese researchers. The fruit's malic acid which aids the body's production of adenosine triphosphate, an energy-dispensing molecule functions like a rechargeable battery. Plus, the blood, optimizing the delivery of invigorating oxygen throughout the body.

No wonder apricot can melt 9 pounds from my mushy middle. It further makes me younger looking and energetic all the time.

Now, I know!

Almond Eating: It's Beneficial

I love eating almond. I eat everyday or whenever I like. I even bought some huge packs of almond which I stock in the refrigerator so whenever I want to take a bite, I have lots in store.

This news from Women's Health magazine (November 2008) reported that almond improves digestion and boost one's immune system by increasing levels of good bacteria in the digestive tract. Applied and Environmental Microbiology testifies that too. They further reveals that to keep escape route of clear obstacles, eat one large handful of almonds (about 25) every day.

I'm glad I've made the right choice!

My way to healthy Gastro-Intestinal Tract.

I often experience rumbling of my stomach. I've noticed such incident occurs everytime I eat too much food. I just ignore this until I have read from the Natural Health Magazine (p.61), November 2008 issue that says that scientists have discovered that three-quarters of your immune system resides in your gastrointestinal tract. It's also where you manufacture brain chemicals called neurotransmitters, which influence how you think, feel and asleep.

This information prompts me not to neglect the rumbling of my GI tract. As a result, I contemplate and apply these helpful tips that best give remedy to my stomach problem. Here are those:

During morning time at about 6:45, upon waking up, you swig 4 to 16 ounces of tomato or carrot juice 15 minutes after waking. At 6:45 a.m., sprinkle a capsule or packet of pribiotic like Theralac or Jarro-Dophillus into your juice. If you're battling diarrhea, food intolerances or sinus allergies, you can add Culturelle, Yakult or Align to Yogurt or applesauce to distribute the pribiotic along your GI tract, starting with your mouth.

Vomiting and diarrhea? Here is the remedy.

I went to my friend's house, just a few block from our street to join the birthday celebration of Jessica's son, Michael. There were lots of visitors as well as there were lots of food on the table - desserts, beef steak, pork chop, chicken curry, vegetables and fruits. In fact, I tasted them all. I served my plate with lots of those food because I miss eating them, lots of them.

Unluckily, when I arrived home from the party, I vomit a lot. I even had a diarrhea. I was regretful of the delicious food that I have eaten because I just discharged them.

I want to directly go to the hospital but it's already past 10 in the evening. I just drink lots of water to compensate for the lost electrolytes due to dehydration.

I called my friend, Mica to help me on what should I suppose to do. She advised me to drink Pedialyte.

At last, I find relief.

Dusts from comb

Everyday, we are faced with pollution. In fact, no matter how we wash our body and we take a bath, still we can't escape from dusts and bacteria.

Every morning, I always take a bath. In fact, I shampoo my hair and I apply body wash but this does not prevent me from being free from bacteria.

I have a serious problem with my hair because it is dry and full dusts which I got from the environment. When I comb my hair, accumulated dusts stick to the comb, making my comb dirty.

As a result, with the use of a brush, I clean it everyday. I wet the comb and I brush it with a brush with soap. It will loose all the dirt.

To prevent spreading the dirt, I don't let my friend borrow my comb. They should have their personal belongings with them such as comb, mirror, lipstick, make-up, powder, etc. in a pouch. So wherever they go, they are always ready on the go!

An alternative for cotton buds.

When availability is meager and all it takes is to save, alternative solutions are the helpful options in order to save more and spend less.

Take for example, if you run out of cotton buds you can use a small piece of cotton and a piece of match stick. Coil the piece of cotton in the match stick until it totally covers the match. This is how to do it:

These ways are but simple to do and it creates a BIG help. Just tightly stick the cotton to the match stick so that it will not be left in your ear and you can say that, "Ear cleaning is really simple".
