An alternative for cotton buds.

When availability is meager and all it takes is to save, alternative solutions are the helpful options in order to save more and spend less.

Take for example, if you run out of cotton buds you can use a small piece of cotton and a piece of match stick. Coil the piece of cotton in the match stick until it totally covers the match. This is how to do it:

These ways are but simple to do and it creates a BIG help. Just tightly stick the cotton to the match stick so that it will not be left in your ear and you can say that, "Ear cleaning is really simple".

Yoga

I am prone to exercising. I love the pleasure of achieving a healthy lifestyle through stretching out my muscles and take time to strengthen my bones and body through yoga.

Yoga is a vast collection of spiritual techniques and practices aimed at integrating the mind, body and spirit to achieve a state of enlightenment or oneness without the universe. But in simplest terms, yoga is a general term that encompasses many different disciplines, from the purely physical to the purely spiritual and everything in between. But yoga need not be confusing or complicated in fact, its very essence is simplicity.

Yoga offers complete detoxification as the gentle stretching of muscles and joints as well as massaging the various organs ensures the optimum blood supple to various parts of the body. This leads to benefits such as delayed aging, energy and a remarkable zest for life.

Furthermore, yoga creates a sound and relaxed mind through the breathing exercises and ordered sequence of moves and techniques. The deep breathing allows oxygen to permeate every part of the body, particularly the brain, and clears it of stress and negativities.

Indeed, I was not wrong choosing yoga as my 'appetizer' to strengthen my muscles and bones which are the most used part of my body as I do daily task of work and more works. Now, I can say that I'm in the right track.

Remedy for cold sore.

I have seen several remedies mentioned for cold sores, but mine appears to be the cheapest yet and more likely for people to have on hand. Whenever I get a cold sore, I dip it on the sore. It stings briefly, but it usually only takes one or two applications to do the job.

3 simple stress soothers

I have read an article from The Natural Health Magazine, page 18 that talks about the 3 simple stress soothers.

In order for busy-goers to unwind and take a good time for themselves, it is best required and is advisable like it is a MUST for them (us) to heed on and make actual realization of these essentials steps for us to relax and unleash from the many pressures this world could ever have.

It is essential for us to drink green tea. Sip a cup of tea made from the roots of Ashwagandha, an herb also known as Indian ginseng.

When researchers in India isolated a component of the herb's roots and administered it orally to rats once a day for five days, the relaxing effect was similar to that produced by lorazeprem of Ativan an anti-anxiety medication.

It is also best recommended that we have to breath fully. Close your eyes and breathe deeply, keeping your belly soft. As you slowly breathe in through your nose, say "soft." As you breathe out through your mouth, say "belly."

When your belly is soft, the breath goes to the bottom of the lungs and you get a better oxygen exchange, explains James Gordon, M.D., founder and director of the Center for Mind Body Medicine in Washington, D.C. Deep belly breathing also activates the vagus nerve, which counteracts the stress response, and as the belly muscle relax, so do other muscles of the body.

It is also a need to let yourself cry. Crying when something makes you sad, angry, or frustrated eases stress.

Emotional tears have a different chemical makeup from other types, according to William H. Frey II, Ph.D., a biochemical and leasing tear expert, who theorizes that the chemicals unique to emotional tears may be the ones that build up in the body during stress. Getting rid of then through crying makes you better you.

How to protect yourself from back pain.

Exercise is the last thing we want to do when we feel the dreaded twinge of back pain.

For you to stay active and strengthen your core for a back that's limber and free of pain, these 3 simple ways keep your back protected.

It is a must that you bend properly. When lifting a heavy object, be sure to bend your knees beforehand. Keep your back straight and make sure the object is close to your body so your arms are bent, not outstretched.

You should take a break for 5 minutes if you've been sitting for more than 20 minutes. Stand up, roll your shoulders backward and forward, pull in your navel, drop your tailbone and feel yourself "growing tall."

It is also very essential to round your back and drop your chin toward your chest. Hold for five counts. Then lift your chin, gaze forward, and arch your lower back. Hold for five counts. Do six times per day.

With these 3 simple steps, you are protecting your life, your back.

Eczema Baby Wash

My little baby Danica is already 2-month old. For the past months after I gave birth to her, she has a healthy baby skin. Just recently I have found some rashes and redness of her skin especially on her arms and legs. This alarms me a lot especially that she is my precious first child and I don't want something bad might happen to her. Jessica, my best friend and a mother, told me not to stress much of the problem because my ordinary baby soap will heal the cause. Actually, the soap for my little Danica doesn't give remedy to her skin. I have been overly tired of trying and using various baby soaps for my Danica but some heal for just days and the case starts again. Now, I am having not much problem until I am at ease with Eczema Baby Wash. It has natural skin healing complex of aloe, caledula, jojoba oil and vitamins A,D and E that heal my Danica's redness, rashes and itchiness.

Indeed, nothing is more effective in treating my Danica's skin problems naturally than Eczema Baby Wash.

This I could recommend to all moms around the world. When we speak about baby's redness, itchiness and rashes, Eczema Baby Wash tops the list.

Giving babies Tylenol may blunt, vaccines effects

Giving babies Tylenol to prevent fever when they get childhood vaccinations may backfire and make the shots a little less effective, surprising new research suggests.

It is the first major study to tie reduced immunity tot he use of fever-lowering medicines. Although the effect was small and the vast majority of kids still got enough protection from vaccines, the results make "a compelling case" against routinely giving Tylenol right after vaccination, say doctors from the US Centers for Disease Control and Protection.

They wrote an editorial accompanying the study. published in Friday's issue of the British medical journal Lancer.

The study only looked at preventive use of Tylenol - not whether it is OK to use after a fever develops.

Tylenol or its generic twin, acetaminophen, is widely recommended as a painkiller for babies. many parents give it right before of after a shot to prevent fever and fussiness, and some doctors recommend this. The CDC's vaccine advisory panel says it is a reasonable thing to do for children at high risk of seizures, which can be triggered by fevers.

However, fever after a vaccine isn't necessarily bad - it's a natural part of the body's response. Curbing fever, especially the first time a baby gets a vaccine, also seems to curb the immune response and the amount of protective antibodies that are made, the new study found.

It was led by military and government scientists in the Czech Republic and was done at 10 medical centers n that Eastern European country. It involved 459 healthy infants, 9 to 16 weeks old, who were getting vaccines against polio, pneumonia, meningitis, whooping cough, tetanus, hepatitis and other childhood diseases.

Half were given three doses of Calpol, or paracetamol - a Tylenol-like brand sold in Europe- during the first day after vaccination. The others were given nothing besides the vaccines.

Babies given the painkiller were significantly less likely to develop a fever - 42% versus 66% of the others - and very few in either group developed a high one.

However, lower rates of protective antibody levels from several vaccines were seen in the group given the drug. Levels remained significantly lover in this group after booster vaccines, given when the babies were 12 to 15 months old.

Next, the researchers looked at 10 other vaccines studies and found some supporting evidence that using Tylenol to prevent fevers at the time of vaccination may curb immune-system response rates. The same may not be true of using the drug to treat fevers after they develop.

The research was sponsored by Belgium-based GlaxoSmithKline Biologicals, which makes all the vaccines used in the study. Some authors have financial ties to the company, including owning stock in it, and Glaxo had a role in reporting the results.
